Pete had the great idea of having a backyard camp-out. Please keep that in mind for later in this post. I repeat, it was his idea. He pulled out the tent from the garage and the air-mattress and the portable fire-pit. I set up all the blankets and pillows. We got the goodies to make smores. Picked a movie to watch and a couple of books to read. Success! The weather was perfect.
Harlow woke up from a late nap, we had dinner and a bath and then got ready to have some fun. It was going great. We showed Harlow how to make smores, she even had her first taste. We read some books and then got settled in to watch a movie. We made it all the way through the movie and then as we laid down to go to sleep, Pete was like, "we should go in now". WHAT?! What's a camp-out without sleeping in the tent? Harlow was too excited to sleep and was bouncing up and down on the air mattress and he wanted to go in because he said "she'll never fall asleep out here". He didn't even give it a chance! Haha. Maybe when she's older I guess. It was still fun while it lasted.
Harlow seeing the "house" (tent) for the first time when she woke up from her nap.
Exploring the tent.
Checking out the flashlight.
Getting settled in to read some books.
Daddy setting up the fire-pit.
Making us some smores.
Her first taste, she loved them, just like her mama.
Getting all set up to watch a movie.
Saying cheese.
She looks so comfy watching Lilo and Stitch.
Maybe a real camp-out will have to wait until she's older and she can tell her Daddy that she doesn't want to go inside. Then he'd have to stay out there all night!
