Walking the Dogs

This morning as I watched Harlow run around the kitchen island for the 100th time while pulling her toy puppy along behind her, I had an idea. Why not take a nice family walk with the dogs before it got too hot outside! Such a great idea, Harlow held on really tight to Gus Gus's (our 4lb. chihuahua) leash and was doing great until the sidewalk jumped out in front of her and down she went, without even letting go of the leash. She stood up and immediately had a purple welt on her nose. Through her tears she refused to be held and wanted down to hold the leash again. She cried the rest of the way home while holding Gus' leash. When we got home she let me sit on the couch and hold an ice pack on her nose. She seems to be doing fine and the battle wound just adds a little character to her pretty little face. It was bound to happen at some point, right?

She started off by holding on to Buddha's leash, but that didn't seem to be a good idea. (point proven since our 4 lb dog took her down, the 65 lb dog would have really done some damage).

Right before she went down.

You can't really tell how purple it is in these pictures but it's a nice shade of purple and a little swollen.
