Conner Prairie Historical Park in Indiana

Since we first got to Indiana I kept hearing people talk about Conner Prairie.  TV commercials, radio commercials, friendly Indiana people and some of Pete's clients have even told him about it.  So we finally headed out to see what it was all about.  Conner Prairie is an Interactive Historical Park.  There is an Indian village, a farm, barn, animals, and a town. Everything is interactive for all ages.  Each building or exhibit had someone in character from whatever time period their exhibit was.  There were even people making horse shoes in the Blacksmith's shop, a carpenter whittling a new handle for a hammer, a woman making pottery and an Indian teaching Tomahawk throwing.  There was also some indoor activities too.  One thing we didn't try out was the huge balloon that floats above the park.  You could ride up in the balloon and see all of the park from an aerial view. Just seeing it blowing in the wind so high up made my stomach a little queasy.

We had fun running around and exploring what it would have been like to live back then.  I was a little skeptical about it being a 'History' park but it turned out to be a lot of fun.
