Jury Duty = Catch up time

I had jury duty last week, and somehow I got lucky enough to be picked to be on the jury. Ha! I spent 4 days doing my civil duty. But man, did I miss my baby while I was gone!

We've had some projects going on at the house. My wonderful and talented husband finally hung my new curtains. They had been sitting on the kitchen table for like 3 weeks!

Harlow learned how to get up to her hands and knees so we decided it was time to get some baby gates. I cringe when I see these ugly things but the peace of mind it gives me makes it worth it.

And I finally finished Harlow's birth keepsake. I saw one of these on Etsy and figured instead of wasting the $29, I would just make it myself. It is a wooden block covered in scrapbook paper in matching colors to her room and her newborn pictures from the hospital and from her shoot with Stephanie Ryan. It also has all of her stats from her birth. Pretty cute if I do say so myself :)

7 Months

7 Months Old!

We made it past the half way mark. I can't believe it!

Harlow can get herself up to her hands and knees.

She can rock back and forth but hasn't yet figured out how to crawl.

She can sit up on her own for a long period of time now.

She waves her arm up and down when she gets excited.

Sometimes she acts really shy when strangers come up to say hi.

She doesn't love her swing as much as she use to (dangit!).

If she doesn't want to nap she will squirm around and roll over until she almost falls out of the swing.

I am currently (as of right this second) training her to nap in her crib. It is not going so well.

I made my own baby food last week and she seems to love the pears and apples. Next we'll try the avocado.

She dry heaves when I feed her peas.

She doesn't love green beans but will tolerate them for a few minutes.

We have been putting her to bed earlier. And each morning she is waking up a little later. When we first started putting her to sleep earlier, she would wake up at 4am, then 5am, then 6am and then this morning right after 7am. (7am I am ok with)

When she gets her diaper changed she likes to put her feet in her mouth. (so gross!)

She had her first swim class with other students last week. She did great and actually went under a few times and only did a few little sad faces.

She is getting so BIG! It blows my mind that she was once so tiny. She is on the move almost all day and it is tiring but a lot of fun to try and keep up with her. I LOVE YOU HARLOW!

Good Morning Beautiful!

Yesterday morning, Harlow was being her silly self (morning is her happiest time) so I sat her on the bed and snapped a couple of pictures. I can't get enough of the one with her thumb in her mouth. I LOVE HER!

Wednesday in Pictures - HAPPY HARLOW-EEN!

Today is Wednesday, HOORAY!!! There has been a lot of Halloween activity going on. We had a lot of fun celebrating through the month of October but I do have to say, I am VERY thankful that October is over. October kicked my butt! We were busy every day this month, or so it felt. Hopefully November is a little easier on us.

I got sick over the weekend and unfortunately Harlow also got sick. We thought that maybe it was just a little runny nose from allergies but she woke up today with a really stuffy/crusty nose and was coughing a little. She also has been a little more fussy than usual (but not too bad) and we were having more trouble getting her to drink from a bottle. So this morning I took her to the doctor for a quick check up. Dr said she has a cold virus but no ear infections and said it didn't sound like it had effected her chest too much and still no fever. We are just on the look out to make sure it doesn't get worse before it gets better. While at the Dr. I was surprised to learn that she weighs 14 pounds, 14 ounces. She gained more than a pound in less than a month! For the little girl who had us worried she wasn't keeping weight on, that's amazing! Go Harlow!

Harlow and the pumpkin I painted for her.

Just quick picture while she was eating lunch.
On Saturday night, the day before Halloween, we went to Nick and Brianna's church to go trunk or treating with them and Amelia.
Harlow (Our Sushi) and Dad.

For fun, on Halloween, we put Harlow's costume on again and documented her first Halloween.

Carving pumpkins on Halloween.

Her first feel of the insides of the pumpkin.

Her grossed out face. Ewwe.

Pushing it away after feeling it. Dad thought she should really get a good feel of it, and handed her some of the pumpkin guts.
Trying to get it off.
Gross.

Dad hard at work.
The finished product. Baby Harlow pumpkin!

Harlow learned how to sit up!
