Catch Up #7: Fort Worth Stock Yards

AUGUST 11, 2012

With only a week or two left in Texas for the summer we finally made it out to see the Fort Worth Stock Yards.  Practically everyone I met in Texas told me we should go visit.  It was a cute and quaint part of Texas that felt authentic. They do a cattle drive down the main street twice a day and we made it just in time to see their morning drive.  Longhorn bulls are huge!  Harlow was not intimidated by their size.  She jumped at the opportunity to sit on a saddled one. We also visited a great candy shop that had about a hundred different flavors of taffy, watched a reenactment skit, and Harlow rode a pony. It got pretty hot and humid fast so we didn't last too long.

Getting ready for the cattle drive.

Longhorn bulls walking down the main street.

They also had horse and carriage rides but we passed on the ride because the whole ride was in the sun and Harlow was looking pretty hot already. See picture below.

Pony ride!

Checking out the taffy in the candy store.

of course we bought some to do some taste testing.
