Christmas Morning 2012

DECEMBER 25, 2012

I am so thrilled that Harlow is not at the age where she wants to wake up at 4 a.m. to see what Santa brought her.  We might have to put a lock on the outside of her door once that happens.  She is pretty much a routine girl. She woke up and knew Santa had come and brought her presents but first she wanted to sit in our bed and drink her milk just like everyone morning. Priorities people!  Milk first, presents last.  The mind of a 2 year old I guess.  She woke up at her normal time of about 7:00 a.m. and Pete and I had already been up getting ready, well I was nursing a baby... So while she sat and had her milk, I got dressed.  Then it was time to check out the tree!  She came down the stairs with the dogs running to the tree too (they know all about Christmas by the way).  She checked out the cookies and milk she had left Santa and realized that he had eaten them and then, she saw the Christmas tree.  Her reaction will forever be embedded in my memory.  It was priceless.  She has been talking about a scooter she asked Santa for months ago.  Literally, months! She turned around from checking out the cookies and spotted her scooter and threw down the toy she was holding and yelled, "What?! A scooter!"  The look of shock and happiness on her face was so awesome.  And Pete got it all on video.  She was so excited she threw herself at us giving us hugs! Christmas is so much more fun with kids!  It really brings back the magic of Christmas and believing in Santa.  This was baby's first Christmas and I have all of one picture of her on Christmas morning. She slept right through the entire thing.  Luckily she has a big sister who opened her presents for her.  After all the presents were unwrapped we headed to Grandma Lori's and Papa Rick's house to have Christmas morning there too.

Testing out her new scooter!

Lennox and her stocking, they're the same size!

Gus Gus tearing into her new toy.

Opening baby sister's stocking.

She also got a helmet to go along with her scooter, safety first!
We actually took her to a bike shop around Thanksgiving and had her fitted for a helmet.  On Christmas morning we tried to put it on her and it didn't fit anymore!  Her head grew too much in one month!

Buddha and his new bone.

She also asked for the beauty and the beast tea cup set.

The aftermath...

Taking it for a ride around the house.
